“… I share with you that for calculation of time, a very simple mechanism was concelved, based on the vigestimal system, with which you can record the date of any event, near or far from our time; as well as calculate and projects of future phenomenon. The mechanism is simple and only requires thinking in amounts of twenties”.

Photo by Ielyj Ivgi.In the past we have developed and participated in projects where art, science, and Mayan Cosmovision come together, like ‘Unborn babies that rule the world’ (2014) and 'Big Cosmic Data’ (2016), in collaboration with Branly López from Guatemala, as well as Tijtse Boersma, Louwrien Wijers, Jeanette Groenendaal from the Netherlands within Age of Wonderland programme. During this project, hundreds of people were invited to provide dates from present, future or past that they find important. All the dates were converted into the Cholq'ij Calendar, aiming to identify, if it is possible, the Awas/Karma of Eindhoven, Netherlands. In 2017-2018 I traveled to Guatemala with the aim of continuing my investigation supporting Branly López’s search about the Cholq'ij.

En ésta presentación compartiremos las experiencias y creaciones provenientes de la exploración y experimentación de la información personal o colectiva, tomando como base el calendario Cholq'ij. Para esta exploración se uso un programa en linea así como un programa en exel que permite visualizar dicha información y el cual fue desarrollado por Tjitse Boersma quien ha venido colaborando con este
proyecto.
Masha Ru (Moscú, 1984) es una artista y matemática con base en Amsterdam; con un doctorado en matemáticas por la Universidad Tecnológica de Eindhoven y graduada en fotografía por la Photaoacademy de Amsterdam.
Branly López (Guatemala, 1975) es un investigador social y cultural, con una amplia experiencia en gestión del arte y la cultura. Con Estudios en ordenamiento territorial, economía y gestión cultural en Estados Unidos y Francia.
Tjitse Boersma (Países Bajos) es un apasionado del Cholq'ij y exel, así que combina ambos en su trabajo y en su vida personal. tjitseboersma@live.nl
Su búsqueda consiste en encontrar una función o patrón matemático que pueda proveer una descripción e interpretación de eventos personales y colectivos; y para ello han tomado como base el calendario Maya Cholq’ij.
